Growing up in Tanzania, Mathayo developed a deep love for language from an early age. Surrounded by the rhythms of Swahili in daily life and immersed in English through his education, he discovered a natural gift for moving between two linguistic worlds -- and a passion for helping others do the same.
That passion led him to earn a degree in Education with a specialization in Linguistics, and in 2012, he began his professional career as a translator. Over the years, he honed his craft working with marketing agencies, multinational companies, and media houses, delivering everything from website translations and business documents to professional voice-overs and localized marketing campaigns.
After more than a decade of serving clients worldwide as a freelancer, Mathayo founded SwahiliBridge with a clear mission: to be the definitive bridge between global businesses and the fast-growing East African market.
